Anthropic to embed invisible watermarks in Claude text from Nov 3, users push back
alex_verem · x · 2026-10-31
Anthropic has emailed customers that starting Nov 3, Claude's text output will carry an invisible watermark. It survives copy-paste and some editing, and can currently only be detected by regulators, journalists, fact-checkers and researchers. It doesn't identify users — it only marks that Claude touched the words, even a quick proofread.
The poster voices frustration with such updates, calling for users to 'rebel' and move to open-source alternatives.
