RL-trained robot arm keeps a ping-pong ball bouncing on a paddle for 7 minutes

SIGRobotics trained a robotic arm with reinforcement learning to keep a ping-pong ball bouncing on a paddle for up to 7 minutes straight. Terminal logs from the demo show the system runs on a YAM arm with a real.juggle inference script, tracking the ball via a camera stream on localhost:8080 — in one run the ball stayed on the paddle for 417.9 seconds, with guard logic holding joints as a fallback. A solid showcase of RL applied to dynamic real-world manipulation.
