- Scott Aaronson reveals that his wife, UT Austin computer scientist Dana Moshkovitz, has spent weeks dissecting OpenAI's recent claimed proof of Subhash Khot's famed Unique Games Conjecture, collaborating with Khot, Johan Håstad, Dor Minzer and others to understand what he calls the crown jewel of the release.
- Moshkovitz, who has studied the conjecture since 2009, gave two well-received whiteboard talks at the Simons Institute and will repeat the 2-hour technical talk at UT Austin on Nov. 4 (hour 1: hardness of approximation; hour 2: the new construction), with live Zoom and a later YouTube recording.
