Cherimoya's multispecies gains fail to transfer, only matching Borzoi on eQTL and E2G evals

Responding to Anshul Kundaje, the Cherimoya authors confirm the new version includes GTEx eQTL (Fig 5e) and E2G (Supp Fig 21) evals, but the gains from multispecies track prediction did not carry over — the model is only on par with Borzoi there, a limitation they say they don't fully understand yet and discuss in the paper.
