d3-cloud 2.0 ships with shape masks, image sprites and elastic layouts

jasondavies released d3-cloud 2.0, a major update to the 4k-star JavaScript word cloud library: sprites are decoupled from layout, with new image sprites and shape masks, erase-and-replace words, elastic layouts without a fixed box, built-in TypeScript types, zero dependencies, and ESM-only packaging (Node 20+). D3 community figures like Elijah Meeks welcomed the long-awaited shape-mask feature.
