A landmark week for solo founders, headlined by two deals:
- Anthropic acquired Mithril Medicine, a one-person biotech. Cody Tranbarger spent six years posting about drug development anonymously as "Professor Oak" on X before revealing himself. Mithril is developing a drug for a rare childhood muscular dystrophy with no approved treatment; as the sole full-time employee, Tranbarger used Claude to coordinate work across 11 outside labs, going from idea to promising early mouse results in under 18 months.
- Wabi raised a $55M Series A at a $1.25B valuation, led by IVP. Eugenia Kuyda's second solo-founded company builds a personal AI that pulls your plans, people, and apps into one place — an "operating system for your life."
Also: an SFP4 founder's Skyrim-inside-Minecraft mashup video topped 1M views on X.
