AI compute market is ~$224B/year — SPCX would need to capture 85% of all growth to pencil out

Running the numbers on SPCX's compute ambitions: today's AI compute market is $224B/year. Even if the market doubles every year through 2029, SPCX would need to capture 85% of all growth, leaving hyperscalers and neoclouds under 15%. Selling burstable compute to other clouds means even lower margins and more aggressive growth requirements. On the demand side, Anthropic cites $800B in commits over unspecified years, but only 2 companies worldwide likely have >$500B aggregate demand spread over 5 years — excluding those that own compute. Far more complicated than just bringing data centers online.
