Former Citadel Securities COO: Enterprise AI pilots fail because of broken processes, not the AI
EXM7777 · x · 2026-10-31
A former Citadel Securities EMEA COO argues that most enterprise AI pilots never show up on the P&L despite companies running 3+ pilots in 12 months. Three root causes: models built from SOPs miss real-world exceptions that can be 40% of volume; speeding up one step (like W-9 review) doesn't fix a 22-day vendor onboarding process; and AI agents lack clear ownership once innovation budgets run out and consultants leave. The bottleneck is the enterprise process itself, not AI capability.
