Security researcher: vibe coding will force software to consolidate around mature products
jd_pressman · x · 2026-10-31
Security researcher Paulos Yibelo predicts that once real hacks start hitting AI-generated software, builders will rush back to mature, battle-tested products like Firecracker and gVisor instead of vibe-coded sandboxes, frameworks, or kernels. He argues software will centralize around a few winners for security reasons: "BUILD SECURE SOFTWARE."
@jdpressman agrees for the short term: mature software like Apache has already fixed a long tail of bugs, and having an AI agent walk through past CVEs is no substitute for adversarial pressure.
