Yuan Tang (co-founder, TensorScale AI) and Janet Kuo (Senior Staff Engineer, Google) sat down with Kubernetes SIG Architecture to discuss the journey of AI Conformance: it started as a CNCF program, moved to a Working Group, and is now a permanent subproject under SIG Architecture.
- Kuo has been a Kubernetes maintainer since 2015, wrote core workload controllers around the 1.0 launch, and now co-leads SIG Apps while heading the AI Conformance program to keep K8s the best platform for AI workloads.
- Tang previously led Red Hat's AI platform and open source strategy, fostering collaboration around Kubeflow, Argo, and KServe, and co-founded WG Serving and AI Conformance.
- The program establishes a conformance certification standard for running AI inference/training workloads on Kubernetes.
