Gemma 4 ran on TPUs aboard a Google prototype satellite in space, response beamed back to Earth

Google's Project Suncatcher has run Gemma 4 in orbit: the model executed on TPUs aboard a prototype satellite, powered by stored solar energy, and its response was successfully received back on Earth.
The demo validates the space datacenter thesis — using near-unlimited solar power in orbit to run AI compute directly, rather than concentrating it all in terrestrial datacenters. Google's blog covers the first received response from the prototype satellite.
