"Making games without AI is a waste of time" sparks dev community pushback

Developer kunchevsky claimed "if you make games without AI, you're wasting your time," showing a workflow where he leaves notes on the game map—small tweaks or entire new mechanics—and changes land in the game within a minute. His editor was itself built by AI, and even the promo video was made with an AI-added feature. He says he used to spend more time building editors than games.
The take drew pushback: ChaffDev's rebuttal that many devs make games purely for the joy of creating went viral, highlighting the indie game community's divide over AI-assisted development.
