TF binding models beat database motif annotation, researcher shows with CTCF example
jmschreiber91 · x · 2026-10-31
The author argues DNA sequence binding models are often more reliable than seqlet calling plus database annotation: matching motifs back to databases frequently yields weird results, e.g. an obvious CTCF motif being called as something else. Paired with their CATv1 models, these binding models work like ChromBPNet+BPNet or the AlphaGenome Atlas—offering complementary readouts of the same sequence across different genomic modalities.
