Indie dev prototypes custom secure hardware in a day with Rust firmware and root-key isolation
wavefnx · x · 2026-10-31
Indie developer wavefnx shows rapid hardware progress: board and screen arrived yesterday, with Rust firmware prototyped and a CAD cover designed today. The device includes mic, Wi-Fi with TLS, and Bluetooth, with heavy cryptography work — nothing stored in plaintext and even the CPU can't read the root key. The author previously built vector rendering libs, codecs and native AI integrations, and shares a firmware test clip.
