AI researcher's take: the cure for economic doomerism is being more AGI-pilled
trq212 · x · 2026-10-31
An AI practitioner argues the antidote to economic doomerism is being more AGI-pilled: he believes in a well-aligned ASI that can explain its work and bring humans along, making each individual maximally effective.
In a follow-up he adds that almost everyone is bad at predicting how more intelligence will actually show up in the economy, and that the simple answer of "it'll cost a lot and unemploy everyone" is itself not very AGI-pilled — we should avoid hyperstitioning that outcome into reality.
