Founder-density ranking puts Palantir first, Stanford second, Yahoo surprisingly third
deedydas · x · 2026-10-31
Using a threshold of at least 25 founders and 1,000+ staff, counting only founders who raised seed/Series A from top-tier firms, deedy ranked the most talent-dense founder breeding grounds: Palantir #1, Stanford #2, and Yahoo a surprising #3.
He flags clear biases: labs like OpenAI look deflated because few people have left; Yahoo is inflated since its struggling business keeps headcount low; schools are heavily inflated by 100% 4-year attrition. Scale (18), Citadel (19), Waymo (21), Jane Street, Robinhood, Caltech, and Cruise just missed the cut.
