Humansand launches &Tutor, a tutor model trained by teaching a human-like learner model
techNmak · x · 2026-10-30
Startup Humansand introduced &Tutor, built on a two-step idea: first train a model that learns like a person, then train a tutor model to teach it. On a widely-used tutor eval, &Tutor scored best, supporting the thesis that better models of people lead to better AI for humans. Available via API.
The team's bet: post-training through long interactions with realistic user simulators encourages the fuzzy, human-centered behaviors they care about — and &Tutor shows this works at scale, and works because of the user model.
