Four OpenAI cost updates: Decisions API GA, GPT-6.1 Terra at half the token cost, per-user usage exports
MrCashMahon · reddit · 2026-10-30
Four OpenAI updates this week that directly cut costs: the Decisions API is now generally available with gpt-6-luna, running up to 400 questions per request and reusing cached context across calls to lower token bills; GPT-6.1 Terra, built for fast screen work and writing at roughly half the token cost of larger models, is live in ChatGPT Work, Codex, and the API; Enterprise and Edu admins can export usage down to the individual user with dedicated GPTs/Projects reports to spot unused paid licenses; and Enterprise workspaces can no longer create new custom GPTs ahead of their scheduled retirement (existing ones keep running).
