Citing Deloitte's State of AI in the Enterprise 2026 (survey of 3,235 leaders, Aug–Sep 2025): 84% of companies have not redesigned jobs around AI capabilities, and the most common response is AI education (53%). The author argues AI fluency applied to the old workflow just yields a faster old workflow, and proposes a 5-step starting point — Pick. Split. Check. Rebuild. Protect: choose one workflow, break it into tasks, decide what belongs to AI vs humans, then rebuild the process around both.
