Mistral releases Le Chonk open weights, tops FrontierCode among open models

Mistral has officially released the weights of a new and improved Le Chonk, positioned as an open-frontier model for agentic coding and cybersecurity.
- Coding: Le Chonk ranks #1 among open models on Cognition's FrontierCode benchmark, and sets a new Pareto efficiency record on Artificial Analysis.
- Cyberdefense: State-of-the-art in cyberdefense, validated by leading security vendors including CrowdStrike, Cloudflare, Rubrik, and Zscaler.
- Sovereignty: Weights are available on Hugging Face, customizable via Mistral Forge, and deployable anywhere.
Coding tool Kilo Code has integrated the model into its new Kilo Desktop app and publicly thanked Mistral for the open release.
