Lucen Robotics launches Laika: open modular robot kit that morphs into 5 robots for under $6k
Scobleizer · x · 2026-10-30
Lucen Robotics introduced Laika, an open, modular robotics kit for physical AI builders: one set of actuators can be reconfigured into a biped, quadruped, wheeled robot, 7-DoF arm, or dual-arm platform — four embodiments for the price of one, roughly 3x cheaper than Unitree EDU.
- Full kit under $6,000; arm-only kits start at $1,999
- Reusable, repairable and open, letting researchers train different robotic capabilities cheaply
- Pre-orders open, limited to 100 units, shipping in December
