Luddite meme mocks viral "NOBODY wants it" anti-tech take on AI progress
RobertWKemp · x · 2026-10-30
Responding to an anti-tech tweet with 6K+ likes claiming "NOBODY wants" new technology, Kemp posts a satirical Luddite manifesto from 1811: "NOBODY wants the power loom... WE WANT TO WEAVE! (posted from an iPhone, wearing a $9 shirt)." His point: wanting Mars cities, humanoid robots and flying cars doesn't conflict with what we already have, and no one gets to speak for everyone about what humanity does or doesn't want.
