AMD and ai& announced ai& Build Day, a one-day hackathon inside AMD Advancing AI Japan on Dec 1, 2026 at the Palace Hotel Tokyo. Eight teams of 40 builders total will tackle eight real problems brought by AMD's system-integrator partners, with about 4.5 hours to build and an evening stage demo.
The stack is ai& inference: Kimi, GLM, Qwen and MiniMax open-weight models served on AMD accelerators behind OpenAI-compatible endpoints, with accounts and credits provisioned in advance.
Prizes: 750K JPY worth of tokens per person for the winning team, 450K for second, 150K for third plus a Builders' Choice award. All attendees get 30K JPY in credits; applying alone earns 3K. Individual applications welcome, teams formed by organizers, Japanese or English OK. Applications close Nov 9.
