Memgraph 3.14 ships 11 breaking changes and tighter null/NaN semantics
JeremyCMorgan · x · 2026-10-30
Graph database Memgraph released v3.14.0, adding OPTIONAL CALL and label expressions alongside 11 breaking changes. Null and NaN semantics are tightened, which can silently change query results — the poster advises diffing your test outputs before upgrading.
Notable breaking changes: user/tenant profile changes inside explicit transactions are now refused; SHOW TRANSACTIONS gains a database column, so clients parsing by column position must adapt; edge index metrics are merged into new metric names, requiring dashboard updates; comparing an edge property with an unmatchable type now returns no rows instead of raising; and after OPTIONAL MATCH, MATCH (b) no longer keeps a null b row.
