AMD's chiplet architecture winning as Intel misjudged memory-price hit to PC demand

Blogger zephyrz9 argues AMD's fungible chiplet architecture is "winning hard," expecting another rough year ahead.
Quoting @jukan05: Intel badly underestimated how quickly higher memory prices would hit PC demand and trigger an inventory correction. Management acknowledged the risks at the Q2 call but still assumed Q3 client revenue would stay flat on CPU replenishment — too optimistic in hindsight.
CEO Lip-Bu Tan did offer encouraging notes: the industry is expected to stay supply-constrained through 2027 into 2028, and industry server CPU units should grow more than 30% in both 2026 and 2027.
