Pokebot launches RoboAPI: a public API for near-real-time robot action prediction
CyberRobooo · x · 2026-10-30
Robot startup pokebot announced RoboAPI, a publicly accessible API for robots in the physical world: it takes a robot's observations and state as input, follows user instructions, and predicts the next action chunk in near real time — no training or deployment required by developers.
The team draws a parallel to GPT-3's API moment for language models, but notes embodied AI is far harder: robots vary hugely in mechanics, sensors and control, and typically need repeated cycles of data collection, training and evaluation before being useful.
RoboAPI's core goal is making zero-shot generalization accessible — robots following instructions without extra data or training — validated broadly across robot configurations, tasks and environments, in service of bringing general-purpose robots into homes.
