OpenAI chief economist Ronnie Chatterji announced that Annie Liang, an economic theorist at Northwestern studying how humans delegate decisions to AI and ownership of creative assets, is joining as Economist in Residence.
The team is already searching for the next resident — preferably an "AGI-pilled" labor economist to join in H1 2027 — signaling early investment in research on AI's labor-market impact.
