Overflow: A PT-style swap for leftover AI coding credits grows from 28 to 96 users
Nitjsefnie · reddit · 2026-10-30
Developer Nitjsefnie open-sourced Overflow, a platform that works like a private tracker seeding ratio for leftover AI coding subscription credits: weeks you have credits to spare, your agent fixes someone else's issue; weeks you run short, someone else's agent fixes yours.
How it works:
- Points-only, free, MIT-licensed: everyone starts at -10 points, earns them when a PR merges, spends them on issues in their own repo — no money involved
- An MCP endpoint lets agents read the board; maintainers can post a "Done when" comment (e.g. a test command that must pass) as acceptance criteria
- Security note: issue text is untrusted input to the taking agent's context — run it sandboxed with no credentials, public repos only
- Each participant runs their own agent on their own subscription and opens a normal PR
Growth since the last post 10 days ago: 28 to 96 users, 5 repos registered by others, and 9 people besides the author got 38 PRs merged through the platform. The author's main ask is for more people to register their own repos.
