Signal65 Launches PINNACLE Coding Agent Benchmark: One Model Aces 97% of Samples, Fails All 30 Jobs
ryanshrout · x · 2026-10-30
Signal65 shipped the first major upgrade to PINNACLE since August: a standalone Coding Agent test measuring whether a model can build the right software in an unseen codebase, graded by running what it builds with a price attached to every passed job.
- Setup: model gets a business brief, 74K tokens of docs, and 7,200 seconds in an unfamiliar codebase; grading is all code — the built program runs on 200 unseen samples with every answer recomputed, plus design checks.
- It targets the failure every engineering team knows: code that runs and passes its own tests but misses how the system is meant to behave — something unit-test-counting benchmarks can't see.
- In testing, one hosted model answered 97% of samples correctly yet passed none of its 30 complete jobs.
- Key takeaway: the best enterprise model is not necessarily the best coding model; the two rankings diverge at the top.
