The "did you" agent: a prompt for automated daily data QC
nlarusstone · x · 2026-10-30
Day 11 of the author's agent-a-day series: building an automated data QC agent. Rigorous QC means answering many questions — transcription errors? swapped samples? outliers? edge effects? contamination? control drift? batch effects? operator differences?
The approach: an agent that runs daily over new data. Sample prompt (tweakable):
> Create a QC Agent which runs every day and looks at all new data for the program. It should perform rigorous QC: transcription errors, sample swapping, outliers, edge effects, contamination, control drift, batch effects, operator effects, and other issues. Give a full report on issues with suggested remediation, or state there are none.
