Open-source MCP Events Bridge turns any webhook into an MCP event that wakes your agent
phobos7 · reddit · 2026-10-30
A Hookdeck engineer open-sourced mcp-events-bridge to operationalize MCP Events (SEP-3415, still a draft): most MCP servers don't emit events yet, but nearly every service sends webhooks, so the bridge converts webhooks into MCP events that wake agents.
- Verified flows: an email to a Resend address or a new GitHub issue becomes an MCP event; Stripe, Slack and more connect via Hookdeck Event Gateway source types, and your own services via HMAC, Standard Webhooks, Basic auth or API key.
- Claude Code doesn't support MCP Events yet, so a companion plugin polls the bridge and wakes Claude between prompts.
- ChatGPT already supports MCP Events; experimental support exists in Hermes Agent, Vercel AI SDK, Mastra and TanStack AI.
- MIT-licensed, built on Hookdeck's Event Gateway (verification, filtering, signing, retries), requires a free Hookdeck account; includes a 2:23 demo.
