Designing phages without fine-tuning: Evo 2 does it with four in-context examples
garykbrixi · x · 2026-10-29
Genome language models learn from DNA shaped by billions of years of evolution, but steering them is challenging. Designing phages with Evo 2 previously meant fine-tuning on thousands of genomes; the author shows in-context learning succeeds with just four examples across tasks, dramatically lowering the barrier to genome design.
