Validating agent-optimized bioinformatics tools with a 2TB genomics test suite
jmschreiber91 · x · 2026-10-30
The author describes the final validation step of their auto-optimization pipeline: since unit tests are limited, they rely on a 2TB Genomics Test Suite spanning diverse quality levels, assays, endedness, fragment lengths and sizes — plus intentionally malformed versions of every dataset — to verify the optimized tool also FAILS in the same way as the original. The objective is runtime gated on identical outputs, which is why unit tests matter as the equivalence gate.
