Open-source StableGen 0.4 turns prompts into rigged, textured characters inside Blender
sakalond · reddit · 2026-10-30
Developer sakalond released StableGen 0.4.0, a free open-source Blender add-on that generates and textures 3D models with local models via ComfyUI — everything in the demo video is a real run.
- Prompt → mesh: preview gallery of candidate images, then TRELLIS.2 builds the mesh.
- Texturing: Qwen Image 2.1 generates every camera view projected onto the mesh; Marigold V2 produces PBR maps (albedo, roughness, metallic, normal).
- New: Masked Edit — paint a region, describe the change, only that part regenerates.
- New: auto-rigging with SkinTokens, plus FBX/BVH animation retargeting.
- Experimental Qwen Image 2.1 Turbo, MOSS Image and FIBO 2.0 Edit; runs on an RTX 4080 (16 GB), exports GLB/FBX into Unreal Engine 5.7. Note Qwen Image 2.1 and FIBO 2.0 Edit are non-commercial licenses.
