Millennium Problems called AI's best benchmark; 70% of open math solved within a year?
DimitrisPapail · x · 2026-10-29
Ofir Press argues the Millennium Problems are by far the best current AI benchmark and predicts 70% of open math questions could be solved within a year. Dimitris Papailiopoulos pushes back: open problems stay open because proof hardness scales with required tokens, and there will always exist open problems requiring 10x–100x more proof lines than the current frontier—the problem set isn't static.
