The Trinity paper: three-role recursive self-improvement lifts benchmarks by 34 points
mark_k · x · 2026-10-29
A new paper, "The Trinity: Capability-Driven Recursive Self-Improvement for Multimodal Agents," describes a recursive self-improvement loop with three roles: Creator builds simulated worlds around shared capability requirements, Explorer evolves reusable agent modules into a Harness tree, and Evolver organizes validated results into a capability tree with a Capability-Aware Harness Router. With the base model fixed, evolved harnesses improved mean performance by 34 points across 28 training benchmarks and 26 points across 18 unseen benchmarks, including two real-world robotics tasks.
