Dev Slams Databricks for Having No MCP: 'A Weekend Vibe-Coding Job'
menhguin · x · 2026-10-29
Developer menhguin called out Databricks for still lacking an official MCP server, arguing it's the one business where you could vibe-code a decent MCP over a weekend and coast on it for a year. He frames enterprise integration in three tiers: bad = AI summaries you must read anyway, mid = their cheap internal agent does the work, peak = API/MCP so your own agent just does the thing. Replies complain that Databricks instead forces users to build an "agent MCP" served from its own model layer, with worse results than self-hosted setups.
