Matt Pocock fixes Codex subagents inheriting parent context instead of starting fresh
mattpocockuk · x · 2026-10-29
Matt Pocock shipped a fix for Codex users: some Codex models fork the parent conversation when spawning subagents, inheriting the parent's context window — defeating the whole point of a clean-context subagent and breaking his skills for code review, implement-spec, and more.
The fix adds one-sentence instructions to every subagent-dispatching skill in his repo (eight edits total), plus a matching rule in the repo standards and a changeset, so all future skills start subagents with a fresh context window.
