FrontierCS 2 reshuffles rankings: Claude Opus 5.5 tops FCI as DeepSeek 1017 degrades
teortaxesTex · x · 2026-10-29
FrontierCS 2 is a new benchmark probing underexplored model (and harness) capabilities, like conducting CS research at or beyond human expert level. Comparing the 15 models on both leaderboards: Claude Opus 5.5 leads FrontierCS 2 with FCI 54.4 but ranks second on Terminal-Bench 4.0 (59.6%), while Terminal-Bench leader Kimi K3.1 Pro (67.2%) drops to 7th on FCI.
Commenters note FrontierCS 2 appears scale-sensitive (a good sign), but DeepSeek V4.1 Flash 1017 degrading on both boards is a bad signal.
