A prompt asking ChatGPT what people should never tell it returned a 7-item list: passwords/PINs, bank details, identity documents, private medical info, other people's secrets, work secrets, and anything whose leak could seriously harm you.
The model added an uncomfortable truth: it's not a private diary or a bank vault — depending on settings, conversations may be stored, reviewed for safety, or used to improve models. Its rule of thumb: if the info could be used to steal your identity, cost you money, or damage your reputation, don't type it in.
