Rice's Sensorimotor Alignment Metric Predicts Robot Policy Success Without Costly Rollouts
RiceUniversity · hf · 2026-10-29
Rice University and NVIDIA propose Sensorimotor Alignment (S²), a training-free offline metric measuring how well a robot model's sensory representations match the geometry of physical motion. Inspired by the Platonic Representation Hypothesis, it serves as a low-cost offline predictor of embodied policy success, replacing costly closed-loop rollouts.
