The 'slop' debate: low-effort content predates AI — intent is the real test
AIandDesign · x · 2026-10-29
Reidhannaford argues 'slop' means low-effort, low-intent work — measured by the ratio of creative decisions made by you vs the AI. If the scale tips too far toward the AI, it's no longer your vision. But deeply directing AI tools with detailed notes and iteration makes you a director and artist. AIandDesign adds that low-effort slop existed long before AI; easier production doesn't make all AI-assisted work slop.
