Vibe-coded local app turns webnovels into multi-voice audiobooks; Opus refused the scraper
SwimmerJazzlike · reddit · 2026-10-29
A Redditor shared their vibe-coded open-source project fine-read-it-myself, which converts web novel chapters into multi-voice audiobooks locally with acceptable quality.
The stack uses ModernBookNLP for speaker detection, local or remote LLMs as script producers, and VoxCPM2 for narration, packaged in Electron. Amusingly, Claude Opus refused to write the site-scraping part citing "legal reasons", while Qwen 3.8 had no such reservations.
