Analyst: interconnect supplier market ripe for consolidation around SerDes IP

Analyst Ben Bajarin weighs in on the rumored Marvell–Lumentum deal: regardless of whether it happens, the interconnect/supplier market is due for consolidation by players controlling more critical IP like SerDes and networking silicon. He adds that both Lumentum and Coherent are not ideally positioned once optical standards emerge.
