How Granola grew AI-search new users 4,600% in 7 months with an AEO workflow

Granola, a $1.5B AI meeting notetaker, grew monthly new users from AI search by 4,600% in 7 months. Its AEO workflow:
- Start from buyer decisions, not keywords: map the questions people ask before picking an AI meeting tool, turn them into both Google keywords and AI prompts to measure brand visibility;
- Diagnose every lost prompt before creating anything: missing page, weak answer, crawl/indexing issue, or AI citing third-party sources;
- Separate "missing page" from "weak page": this distinction changes the entire content strategy.
The screenshot shows ChatGPT ranking Granola #1 for "best AI meeting notetaker for founders".
