Harvard experiment finds AI reviews dominate human peer reviews
RexDouglass · x · 2026-10-29
Stephen Turner highlights a new Harvard paper by Gary King and Steven Worthington, "AI Article Reviews Dominate Human Peer Reviews at Their Best," which ran exactly the experiment Paul Bloom proposed: collecting human and AI reviews of the same papers for scholars and editors to compare. Ironically, Turner's own March paper proposing structured AI integration for peer review has itself been stuck in review for 6+ months. He stresses AI could complement, not replace, accountable human editors.
