Chinese community reverse-engineers Claude's ban system: a points-based scorecard
teortaxesTex · x · 2026-10-29
The Chinese community has reverse-engineered Claude's account banning mechanism, revealing a points-based system: accounts start with an initial score, gain or lose points by behavior, and get banned below a threshold — recovery is hard.
Key findings:
- Registration: clean IP matters most; Gmail is no longer optimal; mobile app signup adds points; KYC prompts mean discard
- Payment: subscribing Max right after signup heavily docks points (wait two days, get Pro first); real bank cards add points, virtual cards subtract
- Usage: don't exhaust limits in one go; desktop client and enabling memory add points
- IP/device: stability is key — global TUN proxy, one device per account, multi-device logins heavily penalized
- Age: 2023-era accounts have huge fault tolerance; scores grow slowly over time
- Misc: Linux docks points; timezone/language don't matter; heavy Fable use docks points
Accounts near the threshold enter an observation period (typical sign: dropped logins); further deductions mean a ban. Commentators call the system a clown show.
