Rime launches Prism, a speech-to-speech model that kills dead air in voice agent calls
testingcatalog · x · 2026-10-29
Voice AI company Rime introduced Prism, a speech-to-speech model built for automated phone voice agents.
- Works from the caller's raw audio rather than a transcript, replies at natural conversational pace, and knows when the caller has finished speaking
- Fills wait time with short lines like "Let me check that" so callers never sit in silence
- Available via Rime's API, compatible with LiveKit and Pipecat; English-only for now with four voices
- Enterprises can fine-tune Prism on their own calls to boost call completion rates
Demo use case: a caller reports a lost debit card and Prism freezes it, reads recent charges, and files a dispute.
