KITP UCSB announced a Yang-Mills Working Group, a scientific collaboration to interpret an AI result related to quantum chromodynamics and completions of the Standard Model, including proving the existence of quantum Yang-Mills theory. Math and physics community members question the rationale for such a committee, arguing their fields are fully capable of digesting the proof themselves.
