Stack Overflow ships Scopes, permission-governed knowledge spaces for AI agents
pchandrasekar · x · 2026-10-29
Stack Overflow's October release of Stack Internal introduces Scopes — permission-governed knowledge spaces that give teams and AI agents focused context without unauthorized exposure — plus an out-of-the-box GitHub connector, service accounts, and validation tools.
Citing its 2026 Developer Survey (75% of developers spend 5+ hours weekly searching for information; 79% find key context only after starting a task), the company positions the update as turning scattered enterprise knowledge into bounded, human-verified context for both developers and autonomous agents.
